Doctoral degree

Dr. Heather Johnson successfully completed her Doctorate of Management/Business Administration degree in December of 2020. Her dissertation topic was on strategic management, radical innovation and volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. The disssertion title is “Strategic Management Competencies on Radical Innovation in a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous (VUCA) world”.. The Doctorate of Management/Business Administration program emphasized management theory, critical and strategic thinking, organizational leadership and change, research and innovation, data analytics and sustainability in the global business environment. Dr. Johnson has gained the research and management competencies necessary to acquire, appraise, analyze, apply, and assess information for complex evidence-based decision-making. Dr. Johnson has learned how to investigate the overall business intelligence environment in an organization, develop ethical solutions to complex organizational problems and initiate and lead successful innovation/change. The program has prepared Dr. Johnson for management and leadership roles in for-profit, non-profit, governmental, and non-governmental organizations, internal and external consulting, and teaching.

 

Dr. Johnson conducted extensive research in Technology and Innovation Management with a specialization in Radical Innovation during her doctoral journey. She completed a Manuscript in 2019 on Innovation Management in the pharmaceutical biotechnology industry, with a focus on teams. The manuscript was published in the Journal of Innovation Management on April 28th, 2020. The title of the Manuscript is “The moderating effects of Dynamic Capabilities on Radical Innovation and Incremental Innovation Teams in the Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Industry”. Dr. Johnson co-authored an article title “How HRM and knowledge sharing-technologies foster virtual team productivity for globally dispersed workforces a systematic-review”. It was published in the Journal of Human Resource Management in January of 2021.

Previously Dr. Johnson researched Quality Management. The areas of focus were: Cost of Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Lean Production, Service Quality, Operational and Process Excellence.
